Rare and Stunning 1935 Swallow SS1 Out of 70 Year Ownership with 32k Original Miles
This beautiful SS1 is a rare example of Jaguar's true beginnings. Black withoriginal red leather interior, very fewremain in existence. This extremely special car has been under the same loving ownership for 70 years. Just out of an estate and now offered to the public for the first time in over 70 years. This car has not been seen in decades and has only 32k original miles from new.
In 1921, William Lyons joined his neighbor in Blackpool, England, William Walmsley, in manufacturing graceful motorcycle sidecars, naming their company Swallow Sidecars. By 1926, they were producing car bodies and by 1931, were building the SS1. Special low-slung frames and swooping bodies werethehallmark of these special sporty English cars. Only 78 of these cars were built and only 7 are known to exist today.
