Barn-Find 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300D Adenauer: 15k Miles and Stored Since 1971
This incredibly original 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300D has been under the same family's ownership since 1962 and has been sitting in storage since 1971. Black with red leather interior. An all original car showing just 15k miles from new and retaining its factory Becker Mexico radio. The paint is also likely to be original as well. The 300 saloon succeeded in marking a return to the marque's tradition of building high-performance luxury automobiles of the finest quality. The 300 featured the 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine also used in the 300SL. A 3-speed automatic transmission was standard on the 330D. Custom built by Mercedes-Benz's most experienced craftsmen, the 300 was luxuriously appointed and trimmed with materials of the highest quality. Fast and elegant, it was one of very few contemporary vehicles capable of carrying six passengers in comfort at sustained high speeds. 'Adenauer' became its unofficial model name, after German Chancellor Dr Konrad Adenauer, its most famous customer. A wonderfully original and honest example. Be the first to restore this untouched 300D Adenauer.
