1969 Mercedes-Benz 300SEL 6.3 with Factory Sunroof and 40k Miles (65k Kilometers)
This 1969 Mercedes 300SEL 6.3 is an extremely desirable and collectible European delivered car with 40k Miles (65k Kilometers) from new and factory sunroof. Highly sought-after and attractive black with tan leather interior. Just out of long term ownership and storage. The car has been sitting in storage for several years and is ready for straightforward restoration. It is not currently running but does that really matter when Road and Track magazine declared it one of the Ten Best Cars in the World. The car exhibited scorching performance that was perfectly blended with the typical Mercedes-Benz traits of comfort, dignity, and longevity of service. Some felt that the 6.3 was best exemplified by being as close to being all of the Ten Best Cars in the World in one exceptional package. The 6.3-liter V-8 engine was reported as being able to give the car the acceleration of a Porsche, the air suspension ride would be comparable to the Jaguar XJ6, and handling that, with the proper driver at the controls, was considered to be almost as good as that of the latest Ferraris. Roominess and practicality are also bonuses that led some Road and Track staffers to consider this to be the machine that would best fit all of their automotive desires.
