1972 Ferrari 246 GT Dino - Out of 35 Year Storage
This 1972 Ferrari 246 GT Dino is a European-delivered example, sold new in Italy and originally finished in desirable factory Giallo Fly (yellow) over black interior. An extremely original car, it has been in storage since 1990 and now awaits a straightforward restoration.
According to the accompanying Marcel Massini report, chassis 04072, engine number 009861, and body number 943 are all matching. Completed on 22 May 1972, the car was delivered to the official Ferrari dealer M. Gastone Crepaldi Automobili in Milan and sold later that year to Mr. Luigi Ciocca. In 1978 the Dino was exported to Japan, where it was owned by Mr. Hachioji, and later by Dr. Toshimasa Maeda of Wakayama. In 1989 the car was passed on to a fellow doctor, and by this time had been repainted white. A snapped throttle cable sidelined the car in 1990, and it was placed into garage storage, remaining there until 2025 when it was retrieved and shipped to the USA.
Presented today in barn-find condition, this Dino offers an exciting opportunity for the dedicated Ferrari enthusiast to restore one of the most iconic models of the era. - Originally finished in rare Giallo Fly (yellow)
- European-delivered car, sold new in Italy
- Documented by marque historian Marcel Massini
- Garage stored from 1990 to 2025
- Ideal candidate for straightforward restoration
