1972 Ferrari Dino 246 GT: A Dino Lost in Time
A Dino lost in time. This US model GT was originally delivered in Marrone Metallizatto with Beige interior and distributed by Bill Harrahs MCM Motors to Precision Motors, Inc of Dallas, TX. It was desirably optioned with air conditioning and power windows. The first owner would enjoy the car on trips from Texas to Illinois and would be its caretaker until 1981. It was then acquired and briefly owned by its second owner before being sold to its last and third private owner of Texas in 1982. The Dino was then used and enjoyed for two years before being disassembled and parked in 1984 for a future restoration. The Dino would not see a ray of sunlight for nearly 40 years until its recent discovery. Upon inspection the car remains very complete, the body number 942 is found stamped on the trunk hinges, coolant reservoir mounting tab, and both door jamb kick panels. The car also retains its original glass and is accompanied with auxiliary parts and now remains ready for its next journey.
Incredibly the GT retains ALL of its original records back to new which are nicely organized in a history binder and includes: Two sets of keys, ORIGINAL toolkit, Original jack with pouch, Original Owners Manual with pouch, Original Warranty Card, and a rarely seen Original Certificate of Origin (MSO), and Original Ferrari Deliver Form.
In our nearly 40 years of buy and selling classic we have rarely found such a Ferrari Dino. This needle in a haystack find is a lifetime discovery and is the prime candidate to restore or make into an as-discovered driver and enjoy for decades to come.
