In 1982 the new owner restored the car in preparation for a Registry event at Monterey, CA and in the process changed the colors to black-black, added new upholstery and top by Autos International, and installed Schiell Racing Seats. These seats were installed as original equipment in all factory prepared 2.5-911 race cars. A Racemark steering wheel was also installed. (Original wheel and NOS button comes with the car.) The engine was replaced with a 912 case, rods, counter-balanced crankshaft, cam and Solex PII Carburetors. The pistons are four ring super ninety. The third case piece carries the number P* 704316* which would be from a 1964 engine. The floor pan was replaced professionally and is in excellent condition. A reproduction tool kit is with the car. The car lived its first 35 years in California and has resided in Montana since 1991. The odometer indicates approximately 12000 miles, assumed to date back to the 1982 restoration. All panel fit is within factory specifications. With the paint being over 30 years old there are a few shrinkage checks in the lacquer paint that could easily be repaired. All panels are number matching. The car was shown extensively in both PCA, Registry, and other automotive events in California with great success, and since relocation to Montana, has participated in PCA sponsored events with best of show on three occasions. In March 1993, the Speedster was featured on the cover of Porsche Pandemonium, the Orange Coast Region Magazine.
