AM30031472 was constructed on February 13, 1958 as a LHD, North American Export wearing Black over White Gold (off white) upholstery. The Saloon was dispatched in early March, destined for the U.S., where it was owned new in the State of Alabama for a short period before making its way to Jacksonville, Florida. Records from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust & Aston Martin confirm the original factory specifications and delivery information. The car's earliest registration copy dates to 1959, owned by Mr. H.J. Smith. It was later passed down to J.T Smith in 1979, whom him and his wife used to pull a moving trailer to their new home, and soon after parked the Aston in its garage where it would remain dormant until its recent discovery this year. Period registration and inspection decals from 1980/81 remain adhered to the car, as well as a 007 Florida vanity plate.
1 Of Only 462 Examples Produced From 1957-1958
Presented as it was found, this incredibly unspoiled example displays older cosmetics, along with numbers-matching mechanicals, original wheels, glass, trim and auxiliaries throughout. The paint color was changed to Storm Grey many years ago, while the factory's Black is shown in several areas. After a careful inspection, the Aston's motor turns freely and the car rolls and steering easily. As expected, a complete mechanical servicing will be required prior to any road use. We are selling the car as-is and have not attempted to start it. This car makes for an excellent summer project!
