1967 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage

Chassis no. DB6/2835/R
Engine no. 400/2822/V
Blue with Saddle Leather Interior

This 1967 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage is a lovely matching numbers, genuine Vantage exhibiting superb mechanical refinement at the hands of Aston Martin experts, Kevin Kay Restorations, widely regarded to be among the preeminent Aston Martin DB specialists in North America. Over the past twenty years, the current owner has preserved the car to a high standard, particularly with regard to mechanical reliability and performance. Receipts dating back to 2010 totaling over $30,000.00 include removing the engine for head and crankshaft work, a rebuilt oil cooler, a new clutch, pressure plate, and resurfaced flywheel, and new ZF front and rear seals. Front and rear suspension work included installing new Koni front shock absorbers and freshly rebuilt Selectaride rear shock absorbers, new bushings, bearings, and springs as needed. Also at this time, new rear brakes, brake pipes, rebound buffers, and trailing arms were installed.  Records of recent service in June and September 2017, include carburetor jetting, accelerator pump work, jet resizing for better tune, and repairing the water temperature gauge. Further work in June include a new radiator, new double end SU fuel pump, and engineering refinement to the cooling system and fans.  At this time, the car was given a comprehensive tune up including new spark plugs, timing, and general lubrication.

Today, this Vantage is every bit as nice as one would expect given the quality and care given to this car. The body is straight with excellent gaps and the paint exhibits a nice, consistent gloss. The chrome bumpers and various trim are in very nice condition as are the glass lights and lenses. Other than the front windscreen, which has light marks from road use, the exterior of the car is cosmetically cohesive. The interior exhibits a handsome original look and feel, with leather seating that has settled nicely, with similar condition to the carpeting, headliner, and door panels. The dash and instruments are nicely presented, accented with traditional materials, bespoke in the Aston Martin tradition.

The engine compartment is very clean, and appears largely original. The Weber carburetors have tremendous eye appeal and the presentation of the engine is consistent with the look and feel of the exterior. The car comes with recent receipts showing the mechanical work performed on the car, jack, and tools. This is an exceptional opportunity to acquire a genuine and rare matching numbers Vantage, exhibiting handsome cosmetics, excellent mechanical sorting, ready for enjoyable driving.
