1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta Black/Black with Matching Numbers
This 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Berlinetta was completed on September 20, 1973, and left the factory in a striking Nero (Black) 20-B-50 paint with a Nero leather interior, accented by red seat inserts. Out of long-term family ownership since the early 1980s, a highly original example boasting plenty of lovely patina. A matching numbers example documented by Ferrari historian Marcel Massini. Offered with factory books and tools. The paint is showing its age at this point with some checking and flaws. Mechanically refreshed and ideal for sympathetic refurbishment.
Chassis 16865 is a US delivered car featuring air conditioning, power windows, and Cromodora alloy wheels. It was initially delivered to Bill Harrah's Modern Classic Motors in Reno, Nevada, and subsequently sold through Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo in Portland, Oregon, on December 24, 1973.
Provenance:
The car's provenance includes ownership by Ron Kinard Farris of Carson, California, and later, Dr. Herv? Gentile, a noted Ferrari collector from Port Aransas, Texas. Under Dr. Gentile's stewardship, the Daytona was sparingly driven and meticulously maintained, preserving its original charm and patina.
Recent Service:
In March 2025, the Daytona underwent a comprehensive service by Exclusive Motorcars of Arizona, ensuring it is in prime condition for its next owner. The service included rebuilding and tuning the Weber carburetors, refurbishing the fuel system, and installing a new battery. The car was road-tested and confirmed to be a fine driving example, exuding the authenticity and character that only an unrestored classic can offer.
Documentation:
Accompanying the sale is a Massini report, Ferrari Heritage Certificate, a tool roll with a jack, and recent service records.

Its combination of design, performance, and provenance makes it a standout in the exotic car class. This iconic vehicle is a testament to Ferrari's engineering prowess and design excellence.
