This 1981 Delorean DMC12 5-speed is an extremely well preserved time capsule with only 3,325 original miles and just out of single ownership. Polished stainless steel with grey leather interior and desirable 5-speed gearbox. The car runs and drives well and is offered with its original jack and spare. It doesn't get any better than this. This car is a preservation class example that may as well have been frozen in time! All original and extremely straight. This untouched and ultra clean Delorean is truly collector grade. A highly sought after 5-speed car and with very low mileage. The DeLorean sported a trademark steel backbone chassis and all-independent suspension, and was powered by a rear-mounted Peugeot/Renault/Volvo 2.9-liter overhead-camshaft V6 engine. However, it was the car's stylish coupe body that attracted most attention by virtue of its method of construction - a combination of fiberglass inner panels and stainless-steel outer skin - and doors that opened Gullwing fashion. The desirable 5-speed manual transmission lends a good measure of sportiness to the driving experience to match the Giorgetto Giugiaro styling. Approximately 9,200 DeLoreans were built, of which approximately 6,500 survive today. They are now seen as highly collectible, thanks in no small part to the one that starred in the 1985 motion picture,'Back to the Future.
